LIME JELLO MOLD

Lime Jello Mold image

This is my great-grandmother's recipe. It has been a favorite in the extended family for as long as I can remember. I think this would also be good with orange or lemon Jello.

Provided by Natasha Latham

Categories     Gelatin Salads

Time 15m

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 box (8-serving size) lime jello
1 pkg cream cheese
1 1/2 c boiling water
1 can(s) crushed pineapple in its own juice (do not drain)
1 c chopped walnuts or pecans

Steps:

  • 1. Add Jello and cream cheese to a non-metal bowl. Pour boiling water over this. Beat on medium speed until creamy and well combined.
  • 2. Fold in pineapple (with juice) and nuts.
  • 3. Cover and refrigerate about 3 hours.

Tips:

  • Use fresh limes. Fresh limes will give your jello mold the best flavor. If you can't find fresh limes, you can use bottled lime juice, but be sure to use 100% lime juice and not a lime-flavored drink.
  • Chill your ingredients. Chilling your ingredients will help the jello mold set more quickly and smoothly. You can chill your lime juice, water, and gelatin in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before you start making the jello mold.
  • Use a mold that is at least 6 cups in volume. A 6-cup mold will give you a jello mold that is about 9 inches in diameter and 2 inches deep. If you use a smaller mold, the jello mold will be thicker and may not set properly.
  • Grease the mold before you pour in the jello. Greasing the mold will help the jello mold release easily when it is time to serve. You can use cooking spray or a little bit of vegetable oil to grease the mold.
  • Let the jello mold chill for at least 4 hours before serving. The jello mold needs time to set properly. You can chill it in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or overnight.

Conclusion:

Lime jello mold is a classic dessert that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be customized with your favorite fruits, nuts, or even whipped cream. So next time you are looking for a refreshing and delicious dessert, give lime jello mold a try.
