AWESOME GRILLED WALLEYE (SCOOBY SNACKS)

Awesome Grilled Walleye (Scooby Snacks) image

I got this recipe from a guy I fish with up north, I love them; they are absolutely great, and I can't get enough of them. We call them 'Scooby Snacks' and usually have them around the campfire. Be sure your foil is good and sealed. When done, it will be puffed up like a pillow! You can use any white, flaky fish in place of walleye fillets.

WALLEYE CASSEROLE RECIPE - (3.8/5)

Walleye Casserole Recipe - (3.8/5) image

Provided by JimMac

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 12oz egg noodles, cooked
1/2 c onion, chopped
2 c shredded cheese (save 1 cup of cheese for top)
1 c frozen peas (thawed)
1 1/2 walleye filets, cooked & flaked
2 (10.75 oz) cream of mushroom soup, condensed
1 small can mushrooms, sliced
1 1/2 c potato chips, crushed

Steps:

  • Preheat oven 425 degrees. Cook noodles and drain. In large bowl mix all ingredients, except 1cup cheese and crushed potato chips. Spread mixture evenly on bottom of 9 x 13 baking dish. Sprinkle on top of casserole, potato chips and 1 cup of cheese. Bake 15 to 20 minutes until cheese is bubbling.

Tips:

  • Choose the freshest walleye fillets you can find. Fresh walleye fillets should be firm and have a mild, sweet flavor. Avoid fillets that are slimy or have a strong fishy smell.
  • Use a good quality olive oil. Extra virgin olive oil is a good choice for this recipe, as it has a fruity flavor that will complement the lemon and walleye.
  • Be careful not to overcook the walleye. Walleye is a delicate fish that can easily become dry and overcooked. Cook it just until it is opaque in the center.
  • Serve the walleye immediately. Walleye is best served immediately after it is cooked, while it is still hot and flaky.

Conclusion:

Lemon plank walleye is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal. The walleye is cooked on a cedar plank, which imparts a smoky flavor to the fish. The lemon and herb marinade adds a bright and citrusy flavor. This dish is sure to be a hit with your family and friends.
