LEMON MERINGUE PIE MILK SHAKES

Lemon Meringue Pie Milk Shakes image

A neat way to have your favorite Lemon Meringue Pie in a shake!

Provided by Jamallah Bergman

Categories     Ice Cream Drinks

Time 10m

Number Of Ingredients 7

1/2 c whole milk
1 Tbsp grated lemon zest plus more for garnish (optional)
2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
3 heaping tablespoons store bought lemon curd
11 oz vanilla ice cream (about 1 3/4 packed cups)
whipped cream, sweetened
pizzelle cookies for garnish (optional)

Steps:

  • 1. In blender, combine milk,lemon zest,juice and curd; blend 5 seconds.
  • 2. Add vanilla ice cream and blend until smooth (about 10 seconds)
  • 3. Top shakes with whipped cream. Garnish with zest and pizzelles, if desired. Serve immediately.

Tips:

  • For a richer flavor, use freshly squeezed lemon juice instead of bottled.
  • Make sure the egg whites are at room temperature before whipping them. This will help them reach their full volume and create a stiff meringue.
  • Don't overbeat the egg whites. If you do, they will become dry and grainy, which will make your milkshake less smooth.
  • When adding the meringue to the milkshake, do it gradually and gently. This will help prevent the meringue from deflating.
  • For a thicker milkshake, use more ice cream or frozen yogurt.
  • If you don't have any graham crackers, you can use other cookies or even biscotti.
  • Garnish your milkshake with a dollop of whipped cream, a sprinkle of graham cracker crumbs, or a lemon twist.

Conclusion:

Lemon meringue pie milkshakes are a delicious and refreshing treat that are perfect for any occasion. They are easy to make and can be customized to your liking. With just a few simple ingredients, you can enjoy a delicious and creamy milkshake that tastes just like your favorite pie.
