Tips:

  • Choose tender broccoli rabe: Look for broccoli rabe with vibrant green leaves and firm stalks. Avoid any wilted or yellowing leaves.
  • Prepare the broccoli rabe properly: Trim the tough ends of the broccoli rabe stalks and remove any yellow or wilted leaves. Cut the broccoli rabe into 2-inch pieces.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: When cooking the broccoli rabe, make sure not to overcrowd the pan. This will prevent the broccoli rabe from cooking evenly and will make it more likely to steam rather than sauté.
  • Cook the broccoli rabe until tender-crisp: Broccoli rabe should be cooked until it is tender-crisp, with a slight bite to it. Overcooking will make the broccoli rabe mushy.
  • Season the broccoli rabe to taste: Once the broccoli rabe is cooked, season it to taste with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. You can also add a squeeze of lemon juice or a drizzle of olive oil.

Lemon Garlic Broccoli Rabe is a delicious and healthy side dish that can be enjoyed as part of a main meal or as a snack.
