Tips:

  • Choose ripe, flavorful strawberries: The best strawberries for this salad are ripe and juicy, with a sweet and slightly tart flavor. Avoid strawberries that are bruised or have green or white patches.
  • Use fresh basil: Fresh basil is essential for this salad, as it adds a bright, herbaceous flavor. If you don't have fresh basil, you can substitute dried basil, but use only about 1/4 of the amount, as dried basil is more concentrated.
  • Make the dressing ahead of time: The dressing for this salad can be made ahead of time, which makes it a great option for busy weeknights. Simply whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, honey, salt, and pepper in a small bowl and refrigerate until ready to use.
  • Serve the salad immediately: This salad is best served immediately after it is made, as the strawberries will start to release their juices and the salad will become watery if it sits for too long.

Conclusion:

This lemon basil strawberry salad is a refreshing and flavorful salad that is perfect for summer. It is made with fresh strawberries, basil, lemon, honey, and olive oil, and it is tossed in a light and tangy dressing. This salad is a great way to use up fresh strawberries and basil, and it is sure to be a hit at your next party or gathering.
