Tips:

  • Prepare Ingredients: Before starting, ensure all ingredients are measured, chopped, and ready to use.
  • Use Fresh Herbs: Fresh basil and lemon zest add vibrant flavor to the dish, so use them if possible.
  • Cook Pasta Al Dente: Cook the pasta according to the package instructions but aim for an al dente texture, which will hold the sauce better.
  • Reserve Pasta Water: Set aside some pasta cooking water before draining. This starchy water can help create a creamy sauce.
  • Don't Overcook Shrimp: Shrimp cooks quickly, so sauté them for only a few minutes until they turn pink and opaque to avoid becoming tough.
  • Use High-Quality Prosciutto: Choose a good quality prosciutto for the best flavor. Look for one with a deep red color and a slightly salty taste.
  • Add Cheese Gradually: When adding the grated Parmesan cheese, do so gradually and taste the sauce as you go to prevent it from becoming too cheesy.
  • Garnish Before Serving: Before serving, sprinkle some additional chopped basil and lemon zest on top of the pasta for a pop of color and extra flavor.

Conclusion:

This Lemon Basil Shrimp Pasta with Prosciutto recipe offers a delightful combination of flavors and textures. The tangy lemon and aromatic basil complement the succulent shrimp and salty prosciutto, while the creamy sauce and al dente pasta bring it all together. It's a quick and easy dish that is perfect for a weeknight dinner or a special occasion. With its vibrant colors and delicious taste, this pasta dish is sure to impress your family and friends.
