LEFTOVER TURKEY AND MASHED POTATO PATTIES

Leftover Turkey and Mashed Potato Patties image

My mom usually bought a whole bird for Thanksgiving dinner but no one but Grandma would eat anything other than the breast resulting in a lot of leftover dark turkey meat. If your family is the same way this is a great way to get rid of that left over turkey. You can use chicken and fish instead of turkey.

Tips:

  • Use leftover turkey that is still moist and flavorful. If your turkey is dry, you can add some moisture by mixing in a little bit of broth or gravy.
  • Use mashed potatoes that are still fluffy and smooth. If your mashed potatoes are too thick or lumpy, they will make the patties difficult to form.
  • Season the turkey and mashed potato mixture well. You can use a variety of seasonings, such as salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried herbs.
  • Be careful not to overmix the turkey and mashed potato mixture. Overmixing will make the patties tough.
  • Form the patties into small, flat rounds. This will help them cook evenly.
  • Pan-fry the patties in a little bit of oil until they are golden brown and crispy on the outside and heated through on the inside.
  • Serve the patties with your favorite dipping sauce, such as gravy, cranberry sauce, or barbecue sauce.

Conclusion:

Leftover turkey and mashed potato patties are a delicious and easy way to use up leftover turkey and mashed potatoes. They are perfect for a quick and easy weeknight meal or a fun party appetizer. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can make these tasty patties that the whole family will love.
