Time 20m

Yield 6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 seedless cucumber, sliced
1 large red capsicum, diced
1 green capsicum, diced
3 large tomatoes, diced
5 spring onions, chopped (scallions)
1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup olive oil
1 garlic clove, crushed
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 large pita bread round

Steps:

  • Put diced and chopped vegetables into a bowl, cover and chill until shortly before serving time.
  • Combine lemon juice, oil, garlic, salt and pepper and pour over the vegetables.
  • Toast pita bread under the grill - it should be pale gold in colour, not brown.
  • Break into large pieces and toss into salad at last minute, so it will still be crisp when eaten.

Tips:

  • Use fresh, high-quality ingredients. This will make a big difference in the flavor of your fattoush salad.
  • Toast the pita bread until it's crispy. This will help it hold up better in the salad and give it a nice flavor.
  • Don't overcrowd the salad. Too many ingredients will make it difficult to mix and eat.
  • Dress the salad just before serving. This will prevent the dressing from making the salad soggy.
  • Serve the salad immediately. Fattoush salad is best when it's fresh.

Conclusion:

Fattoush salad is a delicious and refreshing salad that's perfect for a summer meal. It's easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. With its combination of fresh vegetables, crispy pita bread, and tangy dressing, fattoush salad is sure to be a hit at your next gathering.
