Time 1h5m

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 stick butter or margarine
1 c self rising flour
1 c granulated sugar
1 c evaporated milk
1 can(s) fruit pie filling or large can peaches, drained

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350. Spray a 9x13 pan with nonstick spray. Place one stick of margarine or butter in pan and place in oven until melted.
  • 2. In large bowl whisk together flour, sugar and milk into a smooth, thin batter. Remove pan from oven and pour batter into melted margarine/butter.
  • 3. Stir fruit pie filling or canned peaches into batter. Bake 35-45 minutes until top in golden brown. Serve warm with ice cream, whipped cream or cold milk. Then go back for seconds, thirds, whatever.

Tips:

  • Choose the Right Fruit: Use fresh, ripe fruit for the best flavor. If using frozen fruit, thaw it completely before using.
  • Use a Variety of Fruits: Don't be afraid to mix and match different fruits to create a unique and delicious cobbler.
  • Sweeten to Taste: Adjust the amount of sugar or sweetener to your liking. Remember that the sweetness of the fruit will also affect the overall sweetness of the cobbler.
  • Don't Overmix the Batter: Overmixing the batter will make the cobbler tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake Until Golden Brown: Bake the cobbler until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling. This usually takes about 30-40 minutes.
  • Serve Warm: Cobbler is best served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
