Number Of Ingredients 7

WHAT YOU NEED
1 lb stewing beef
1 can mushroom soup
1 can sliced mushrooms
1 onion chopped
1 envelope onion soup mix
1 can water

Steps:

  • 1. Mix all ingredients together in a roasting pan. Cover and bake at 350 for 3 hours, stir each hour. Serve over mashed potatoes, noodles or rice.

Tips:

  • Choose the right cut of beef: Chuck roast, shoulder roast, or brisket are good options for stew.
  • Brown the beef before adding it to the slow cooker: This will help develop the flavor of the stew.
  • Use a variety of vegetables in your stew: Carrots, celery, onions, and potatoes are all classic choices, but you can also add other vegetables like turnips, parsnips, or green beans.
  • Season the stew well: Salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder are all good choices.
  • Cook the stew on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-6 hours: This will give the beef time to become tender and the flavors to meld together.
  • Thicken the stew with cornstarch or flour, if desired: If you want a thicker stew, you can add a cornstarch or flour slurry to the stew about 30 minutes before it is finished cooking.
  • Serve the stew with mashed potatoes, rice, or crusty bread: This will help soak up the delicious sauce.
