LASAGNA SPIRALS

This is a good meatless dish that is very easy to make and so good too. I make several at one time and freeze what I don't use for dinner. Then I just take from freezer what I need, thaw, bake, and voila! You could be creative with these too and add other veggies.

LASAGNA SPIRALS

A fun way to make Lasagna. You may not think the nutmeg would be a good idea but it does add a nice touch. Serve with warm Italian bread sticks or any bread.

Time 50m

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 pkg lasagna noodles, cooked
1 pkg frozen spinach, thawed
1/2 lb italian sausage, cooked
15 oz ricotta cheese
2 c mozzarella cheese, grated
1 bunch green onions, chopped
2 tsp each basil and nutmeg
1 jar(s) spaghetti sauce
1/2 c parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • 1. Grease a 13X9 baking dish
  • 2. In large bowl, combine spinach, sausage, ricotta and mozzarella cheeses, green onions and seasonings.
  • 3. Spread about 1/2 cup of cheese mixture along each noodle. Roll noodles to form spirals.
  • 4. Place in 13X9 baking dish. Pour spaghetti sauce over spirals and top with parmesan.
  • 5. Bake in 350 degree oven for 30 minutes

Tips:

  • Use fresh lasagna noodles: Fresh lasagna noodles cook more evenly and have a better texture than dried noodles. If you can't find fresh lasagna noodles, you can use dried noodles, but be sure to cook them according to the package directions.
  • Make sure the filling is well-seasoned: The filling is the heart of the lasagna, so make sure it's flavorful. Use a variety of herbs, spices, and cheeses to create a filling that's both delicious and satisfying.
  • Don't overcook the lasagna: Lasagna is a delicate dish that can easily be overcooked. Cook it just until the noodles are tender and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Let the lasagna rest before serving: Letting the lasagna rest for a few minutes before serving allows the flavors to meld and the lasagna to set. This will make it easier to slice and serve.
  • Serve the lasagna with a side salad or garlic bread: Lasagna is a hearty dish that can easily be served as a main course. However, it's also delicious served with a side salad or garlic bread.

Conclusion:

Lasagna is a classic Italian dish that is enjoyed by people all over the world. It's a versatile dish that can be made with a variety of different ingredients, making it a great option for any occasion. Whether you're looking for a hearty weeknight meal or a special dish to serve at a party, lasagna is sure to please everyone.
