I have made this several times and it's dead easy. If you have overnight guests, what could be easier for breakfast? I've made it on special occasions, too, such as Easter morning and Christmas morning, etc. This recipe comes from the Best of Bridge series.

Tips:

  • Activate the yeast properly. Use warm milk (105-115°F) and add a pinch of sugar to activate the yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes foamy.
  • Knead the dough well. Kneading develops the gluten in the flour, which gives the buns their chewy texture. Knead for at least 5 minutes, or until the dough is smooth and elastic.
  • Let the dough rise in a warm place. This will help the dough to double in size and become light and airy. Cover the dough with a damp cloth or plastic wrap to prevent it from drying out.
  • Roll the dough out evenly. This will ensure that the buns are all the same size and shape. Use a rolling pin to roll the dough out to a thickness of about 1/4 inch.
  • Spread the cinnamon sugar filling evenly over the dough. Use a pastry brush to spread the filling all the way to the edges of the dough. This will ensure that every bite of the bun is packed with flavor.
  • Roll the dough up tightly. Start from one long edge and roll the dough up tightly, like a jelly roll. Pinch the edges together to seal the roll.
  • Cut the dough into even pieces. Use a sharp knife to cut the dough into 12 equal pieces. Place the buns in a greased baking dish, leaving a little space between each bun.
  • Bake the buns until they are golden brown. This will take about 20-25 minutes. Keep an eye on the buns to make sure they don't overbake.

Conclusion:

These cinnamon buns are the perfect way to start your day or enjoy as a special treat. They are soft, fluffy, and packed with cinnamon sugar flavor. With a few simple tips, you can make these buns at home and impress your family and friends. So what are you waiting for? Give this recipe a try today!
