Time 35m

Number Of Ingredients 4

8 oz catalina salad dressing
1 pkg onion soup mix
1/3 c apricot jam
8 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

  • 5. Serve with rice and a nice salad or pretty green vegetable!

EASY CATALINA BAKED CHICKEN

Easy Catalina Baked Chicken image

This is a super easy chicken recipe that uses bottled Catalina (sometimes called California French) salad dressing. I use Kraft reduced fat Catalina.

Provided by Parsley

Categories     Chicken Breast

Time 55m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
8 ounces reduced-fat catalina dressing
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
3 tablespoons brown sugar
salt and pepper, to taste

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350.
  • Lightly grease/spray a 13" x 9" baking dish.
  • Place chicken in prepared baking dish.
  • In a bowl, combine Catalina dressing, onions, worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar; mix very well.
  • Pour the sauce evenly over the chicken.
  • Bake, uncovered, at 350 for 45-55 minutes or until juices run clear.

Tips:

  • Use boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs for a leaner dish. You can also use bone-in, skin-on chicken, but you'll need to adjust the cooking time accordingly.
  • Tenderize the chicken before cooking to help it stay juicy. You can do this by pounding it with a meat mallet, marinating it in a flavorful liquid, or using a commercial tenderizer.
  • Use a variety of vegetables in your dish to add flavor and color. Some good options include broccoli, carrots, celery, onions, peppers, and mushrooms.
  • Use a flavorful sauce to coat the chicken and vegetables. You can use a bottled sauce, or you can make your own. Some good options include a teriyaki sauce, a honey garlic sauce, or a sweet and sour sauce.
  • Cook the chicken until it is cooked through. The internal temperature of the chicken should reach 165 degrees Fahrenheit (74 degrees Celsius).
  • Serve the chicken and vegetables over rice or noodles. You can also serve them with a side salad.

Conclusion:

Kraft Catalina Chicken is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal. The chicken is juicy and tender, the vegetables are flavorful, and the sauce is tangy and sweet. This dish is sure to please the whole family.
