Time 50m

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 bag of kettle corn per color/flavor.
1 cup white sugar
1/3 cup butter
1/2 cup Karo Syrup
1 package of Kool-Aid - Any Flavor
1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 225*F Pop kettle corn according to microwave instructions - filter out the seeds and pour kernels into a large bowl. In a medium sauce pan over medium heat, combine butter, sugar & Karo Syrup. Mix well until butter is fully melted. Let mixture come to a boil and boil for 3 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in Kool-Aid packet until full combined. Add baking soda to Kool-aid mixture - mixture will double in size and become thick and fluffy. Pour this mixture over popcorn. Mix well. Mixture will be VERY hot. Do not allow mixture to touch your skin. Once popcorn is well coated, pour contents into a large baking dish with high sides. If you do not have one, a large disposable baking pan will work too. Bake for 10 minutes, then remove from oven & stir well. Return to oven for another 10 minutes. Repeat this until popcorn has been baked 4 times. After all 4 cycles have finished, remove from oven and continually mix popcorn until it cools. Break up any big clumps as you stir. Serve cooled. Repeat with other flavors if desired.

Tips:

  • Choose the right Kool-Aid flavor: Different flavors of Kool-Aid will give your popcorn different tastes. Fruity flavors like cherry and grape are popular choices, but you can also experiment with more unique flavors like pickle or orange.
  • Use fresh Kool-Aid: Old or stale Kool-Aid won't give your popcorn as much flavor. If you can, use a new packet of Kool-Aid for the best results.
  • Don't add too much Kool-Aid: A little bit of Kool-Aid goes a long way. If you add too much, your popcorn will be too sweet or salty.
  • Add other toppings: You can add other toppings to your Kool-Aid popcorn to make it even more delicious. Some popular choices include melted butter, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, or chili powder.
  • Store your popcorn properly: Kool-Aid popcorn is best eaten fresh, but you can store it in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Just be sure to keep it in a cool, dry place.

Conclusion:

Kool-Aid popcorn is a fun and easy snack that's perfect for parties or movie nights. It's also a great way to use up leftover Kool-Aid. With so many different flavors to choose from, there's sure to be a Kool-Aid popcorn recipe that everyone will enjoy.
