EASY KIELBASA SKILLET DINNER
The house always smells awesome while this very tasty, filling meal is cooking. It makes kielbasa worth stocking up on when it goes on sale and uses basic/cheap ingredients overall. Vary the vegetables depending on what you have on hand. For example add/replace broccoli with a can of corn and/or peas, etc. If you like a little heat, sprinkle a little hot sauce on top after it's cooked. This should make about 4 servings, but it almost always turns out to be split into 2 large servings between the me and the boyfriend. We like to crisp up/brown the kielbasa slightly before adding the vegetables.

Steps:
- In dutch oven, brown potatoes, kielbasa, onion and peppers in oil.
- Add seasonings and water.
- Bring to a boil.
- Cover tightly and cook for 20 minutes on low, stirring occasionally.
- Uncover and put cheese on top.
- Simmer until cheese is melted.
Tips:
- Choose the right kielbasa: For the best flavor, select a kielbasa that is made with high-quality pork and has a good balance of spices. Look for a kielbasa that is smoked or cooked, as this will give it a more intense flavor.
- Brown the kielbasa before stewing: Browning the kielbasa before adding it to the stew will help to develop its flavor and give it a nice crust. You can brown the kielbasa in a skillet over medium heat for about 5 minutes per side.
- Use a variety of vegetables: The more vegetables you add to your stew, the more nutritious and flavorful it will be. Some good choices for vegetables to use in a kielbasa stew include potatoes, carrots, celery, onions, and cabbage.
- Season the stew well: Don't be afraid to season your stew generously. A good starting point is to add 1 teaspoon of salt, 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper, and 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder per pound of kielbasa. You can also add other spices, such as paprika, cumin, or chili powder, to taste.
- Let the stew simmer for at least 30 minutes: This will allow the flavors to meld and the vegetables to soften. If you're short on time, you can simmer the stew for a shorter amount of time, but the longer you simmer it, the more flavorful it will be.
Conclusion:
Kielbasa skillet stew is a hearty and flavorful dish that is perfect for a cold winter night. It's easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy meal, give kielbasa skillet stew a try!
