Time 50m

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 lb polish kielbasa, smoked
1 c apricot or peach preserves
2 Tbsp lemon juice
3 Tbsp spicy rum, such as lady bligh
1 Tbsp dijon mustard or chipotle
1/3 tsp ginger powder

Steps:

  • 1. Slice up your kielbasa in nice size chunks and then brown them on both sides in a medium heat pan about 7 - 9 minutes and then place them on a paper towel to soak up any grease.
  • 2. Add the remaining ingredients to a sauce pan and heat up on a medium/high heat. You'll want the preserves to melt down and this sauce to become nice and thick. About 10 to 15 minutes for this to thicken up.
  • 3. When the sauce gets to the thickness you desire add the kielbasa. You can finish with setting this on a medium heat till the kielbasa gets hot. You can also serve it in a small crockpot if you are having a party. Set it on a low setting so the sauce doesn't get messed up.
  • 4. This is a great appetizer to serve for game day, parties or any event. Just set out some picks along side or you can serve as a meal. I served it tonight with fried potatoes but this is fabulous with some white rice as well.
  • 5. Feb 1st, 2014 --- Made this tonight and served it over rice for dinner. My husband Anthony just loves this recipe.
  • 6. 4-20-2014 --- Served this as a side dish to our Easter Sunday dinner along with a succulent carved ham.
