Number Of Ingredients 8

3 tablespoons olive oil, salt and pepper to taste
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 pound kielbasa
2 cans (14.5 ounce) peeled and diced tomatoes
1 can (8 ounce) tomato sauce
1 package (8 ounce) tri-colored farfalle (bow tie) pasta
1/4 cup (or to taste) Parmesan cheese, grated

Steps:

  • Heat the oil in a large saucepan over medium high heat. Stir in the onion and garlic and saute for 5 minutes, or until tender. Then stir in the kielbasa and saute for 5 more minutes.
  • Pour in the tomatoes, tomato sauce, salt and pepper to taste and the pasta. Mix all together well, making sure the mixture is wet enough to cook the pasta. If necessary, mix in some water.
  • Cover, reduce heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes, or until the pasta is tender.

Tips:

  • Choose the right kielbasa: Look for a kielbasa that is fresh and has a good smoky flavor. Avoid kielbasa that is too dry or has a sour smell.
  • Cook the kielbasa properly: Kielbasa can be cooked in a variety of ways, but the most common methods are pan-frying, grilling, and baking. Be sure to cook the kielbasa until it is browned and cooked through.
  • Use a variety of vegetables: This recipe calls for bell peppers, onions, and mushrooms, but you can use any vegetables that you like. Some other good options include broccoli, carrots, zucchini, and spinach.
  • Don't overcook the vegetables: The vegetables should be cooked until they are tender, but still have a little bit of crunch. If you overcook them, they will become mushy and lose their flavor.
  • Use a good quality cheese: The cheese is what really brings this dish together, so be sure to use a cheese that you love. Some good options include cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan.

Conclusion:

Kielbasa and bow ties is a quick and easy dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal. It is also a great way to use up leftover kielbasa. The combination of kielbasa, vegetables, and cheese makes this dish a hearty and satisfying meal.
