This ketchup does come close to those name brands in terms of taste, texture and color. I've never had a tomato paste-based ketchup that I liked, so I decided to cook down crushed tomatoes instead. By using the slow cooker, we take most of the labor out of the process.

Nutrition Facts : ServingSize 1 Serving

Tips:

  • Choose ripe tomatoes. The riper the tomatoes, the sweeter and more flavorful your ketchup dip will be.
  • Use a variety of tomatoes. Using a variety of tomatoes, such as Roma, heirloom, and cherry tomatoes, will give your dip a more complex flavor.
  • Roast the tomatoes before using them. Roasting the tomatoes will caramelize their sugars and intensify their flavor.
  • Use fresh herbs and spices. Fresh herbs and spices, such as basil, oregano, and garlic, will give your dip a bright, flavorful taste.
  • Don't overcook the tomatoes. Overcooked tomatoes will lose their flavor and become mushy.

Conclusion:

Ketchup dip is a delicious and versatile condiment that can be used with a variety of foods. It is easy to make and can be customized to your liking. Whether you like your ketchup dip sweet, spicy, or tangy, there is a recipe out there for you. So next time you are looking for a quick and easy appetizer or snack, give ketchup dip a try.
