COFFEE KEOKE

Coffee Keoke image

I thought that I would put this out there, because I went out to eat last night at a Mexican restaurant and ordered this. You would think that if any place could make it a Mexican food place could because it is also known as 'Mexican' coffee; well the bartender had never heard of it and had to look it up in a bartender's book....

Time 10m

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 Tbsp brandy
1 Tbsp kahlua
1 Tbsp creme de cacao
1 c strongly brewed coffee
topped with sweetened whipped cream

Steps:

  • 1. Add all the ingredients to a cup of freshly brewed coffee

Tips:

  • Choose the right coffee beans: Arabica beans are generally considered to be the best for Keoke coffee, as they have a rich, full flavor. Robusta beans can also be used, but they tend to be more bitter.
  • Grind the coffee beans coarsely: This will help to prevent the coffee from becoming too bitter.
  • Use a traditional Vietnamese coffee filter (phin): This is a small, metal filter that sits on top of your cup. It has a small hole in the bottom, which allows the coffee to drip slowly into your cup.
  • Add the coffee grounds to the phin: Use about 2 tablespoons of coffee grounds for every 6 ounces of water.
  • Pour hot water over the coffee grounds: Use water that is just off the boil. Pour it slowly and evenly over the coffee grounds, until the phin is full.
  • Cover the phin and let the coffee brew: This will take about 4-5 minutes. You can tell that the coffee is ready when it stops dripping into your cup.
  • Enjoy your Keoke coffee! You can drink it black, or with milk and sugar.

Conclusion:

Keoke coffee is a delicious and refreshing Vietnamese coffee that is easy to make at home. With a few simple ingredients and a traditional Vietnamese coffee filter, you can enjoy this unique coffee experience in the comfort of your own home.
