Number Of Ingredients 11

1 c sugar
1/2 c light brown sugar
1 1/2 Tbsp flour
1 Tbsp cornmeal
1/8 tsp salt
3 large eggs
1/2 c melted butter (one stick)
3 Tbsp milk/cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 tsp white vinegar
1 1/3 single pie crust

Steps:

  • 1. Pre-heat oven 350 degrees. Mix dry ingredients. Then add eggs, butter, milk and vanilla. Beat until smooth. Pour in shell and cover edges in foil. Bake with edges covered for 25 minutes. Remove foil from edges and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes or until knife comes out clean.

Tips:

  • Use room temperature ingredients. This will help the ingredients blend together more easily and create a smoother batter.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing can make the bars tough.
  • Bake the bars until they are just set. Overbaking will make the bars dry.
  • Let the bars cool completely before cutting them. This will help prevent them from crumbling.
  • Store the bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
