SIMPLE BARBECUE SAUCE

Simple Barbecue Sauce image

Smoked paprika is the secret weapon in this simple barbecue sauce, which goes beautifully with pork and chicken. If you're painting the sauce onto cooking meat, thin it out with water to about a one-to-one ratio, which will keep the sugars from burning too quickly over the fire. Serve the full-strength stuff alongside the finished meat.

Tips:

  • Choose the right tomatoes: Use ripe, juicy tomatoes for the best flavor. Roma tomatoes are a good choice because they have a low water content and are naturally sweet.
  • Roast the tomatoes: Roasting the tomatoes concentrates their flavor and gives them a slightly smoky taste. You can roast them in the oven or on the grill.
  • Use a variety of spices: The spices in this recipe are just a suggestion. Feel free to experiment with different combinations to create your own unique sauce.
  • Let the sauce simmer: Simmering the sauce allows the flavors to meld and deepen. The longer you simmer it, the better it will taste.
  • Taste the sauce as you go: Adjust the seasonings to your liking. You may want to add more sugar, spice, or vinegar.

Conclusion:

This incredible barbecue sauce is the perfect addition to any grilled or roasted meat. It's also great on burgers, hot dogs, and sandwiches. With its smoky, sweet, and tangy flavor, this sauce is sure to be a hit at your next backyard barbecue.
