KANGAROO BOLOGNESE SAUCE

Kangaroo Bolognese Sauce image

Traditional sauce made with a true Aussie ingredient. Will have a slightly 'gamey' flavour. This is much lower in fat (and cholesterol) than when made with beef. Due to Roo being so lean water needs to be added to keep it moist. A favourite of mine & taken from macromeats-gourmetgame.com.au

Tips:

  • Choose high-quality kangaroo meat: Look for kangaroo meat that is a deep red color and has a fine grain. Avoid meat that is pale or has a coarse grain, as this indicates that the animal was older and the meat will be tougher.
  • Marinate the kangaroo meat: Marinating the meat in a mixture of olive oil, garlic, herbs, and spices will help to tenderize it and add flavor.
  • Cook the kangaroo meat over medium heat: Kangaroo meat is a lean meat, so it is important to cook it over medium heat to prevent it from drying out. Overcooking will make the meat tough.
  • Serve the kangaroo meat with a flavorful sauce: A flavorful sauce will help to complement the kangaroo meat and make it even more enjoyable. Some good options include a red wine sauce, a mushroom sauce, or a creamy garlic sauce.
  • Kangaroo meat can also be used in a variety of other dishes, such as stir-fries, curries, and stews.

Conclusion:

Kangaroo meat is a delicious and healthy red meat that is a good source of protein, iron, and zinc. It is a lean meat, so it is important to cook it properly to prevent it from drying out.
