KAHLUA CREAM BREAD (ABM)

Kahlua Cream Bread (Abm) image

This came from my Bread Maker's Bible. This looks like a fun and decadent tea cake that requires yeast and a dough cycle in a bread machine (accounted for in prep time, my machine has a 90-min cycle.) It's called a cream bread but contains no cream. Omit the wheat gluten if using bread flour. I believe it makes a 1.5-lb loaf. It says that you use more Kahlua, use proportionately less water. This isn't a quickbread though!

Time 3h

Yield 1 1.5-lb loaf, 1 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 10

2 tablespoons Kahlua
1/4 cup water
1 (15 ounce) can evaporated milk
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon butter
3 cups all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons vital wheat gluten
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon yeast
1 cup milk chocolate chips, approx (see directions)

Steps:

  • Put all the ingredients in your bread machine in the order listed by the manufacturer EXCEPT for the chocolate chips, selecting the dough cycle.
  • When the dough cycle ends, put the dough onto a lightly-floured surface. Cover with a dishcloth and let rest for 10 minutes.
  • Roll the dough out into a big rectangle, and sprinkle with the chocolate chips. Approx 1 cup, more or less, and a mixture of white and chocolate chips would be neat.
  • Roll it up into a loaf, and place into a lightly-buttered loaf pan, cover with the dishcloth, and let rise for 45 minutes.
  • Uncover and slash the top with a knife carefullhy. Brush with milk.
  • Bake at 375F for 25-30 minutes, then let cool on a cake rack.

KAHLUA BANANA BREAD RECIPE - (4.3/5)

Kahlua Banana Bread Recipe - (4.3/5) image

Provided by รก-11135

Number Of Ingredients 11

3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
3 very ripe bananas (about 1 1/2 cups smashed)
2 large eggs
2 cups all purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 cup shredded sweetened coconut
1 1/4 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup Kahlua coffee liqueur

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a standard 9X5 inch loaf pan with nonstick baking spray. Set aside. Place the granulated sugar and softened butter in the bowl of an electric mixer. Beat on high to cream, until the mixture is light and fluffy. Then scrape the bowl and mix in the bananas and eggs. With the mixer on low, slowly add the flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder. Then scrape the bowl again and mix in the shredded coconut. Scoop the batter into the loaf pan. Bake for 45-60 minutes, until a wooden skewer inserted deep into the center comes out clean. Allow the banana bread loaf to cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then flip it out onto a cooling rack set over a piece of wax paper. While the loaf is cooling in the pan, whisk the powdered sugar and Kahlua together until very smooth. Once you've flipped the loaf out of the pan, poke holes in the the top of the loaf with a wooden skewer to let the Kahlua glaze seep down inside. Then pour the glaze over the top of the loaf. You can use the wax paper to pour the drippings back over the loaf for an extra glaze coating, if you like. Allow the glaze to dry before cutting.

Tips:

  • Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor. If possible, use organic eggs and butter.
  • Make sure your butter and eggs are at room temperature before you start baking. This will help them mix together more easily and create a smoother batter.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing can make the bread tough.
  • Be patient when you're baking the bread. It takes time for the bread to rise and bake through.
  • If you're using a bread machine, follow the manufacturer's instructions for preparing the dough. Be sure to add the ingredients in the correct order and at the correct time.
  • Once the bread is baked, let it cool for a few minutes before you slice it. This will help prevent the bread from crumbling.

Kahlua cream bread is a delicious and easy-to-make bread that is perfect for any occasion. Whether you're serving it for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, this bread is sure to be a hit. With its rich, coffee flavor and creamy texture, this bread is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth. So next time you're looking for a delicious and easy-to-make bread, give Kahlua cream bread a try.
