cooking spray
1 (16.5 ounce) package devil's food cake mix
1 (8 ounce) container sour cream
4 eggs
½ cup coffee-flavored liqueur (such as Kahlua®)
½ cup vegetable oil
1 (3.9 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
2 tablespoons grated orange zest
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 (12 ounce) package mini chocolate chips
1 tablespoon confectioners' sugar, or to taste

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a fluted tube pan (such as Bundt®) with cooking spray; dust with flour.
  • Combine cake mix, sour cream, eggs, coffee-flavored liqueur, oil, pudding mix, orange zest, and cinnamon in a large bowl; beat with an electric mixer on medium speed until very smooth, about 4 minutes. Fold in chocolate chips. Pour batter into the prepared tube pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, 50 to 60 minutes. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Invert onto a plate; let cool completely, about 30 minutes. Dust with confectioners' sugar.

Tips:

  • Use fresh coffee for the best flavor. Stale coffee will make the cake bitter.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing will make the cake tough.
  • Bake the cake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. If the toothpick comes out with batter or crumbs, the cake is not done baking.
  • Let the cake cool completely before frosting it. This will help to prevent the frosting from melting.
  • If you don't have Kahlua, you can substitute another coffee liqueur or a strong cup of brewed coffee.
  • For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  • If you don't have a springform pan, you can bake the cake in a regular 9-inch round cake pan. Just be sure to grease and flour the pan before adding the batter.
  • This cake can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.

Conclusion:

This Kahlua Cookie Cream Cake is a delicious and decadent dessert that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be enjoyed by people of all ages. The combination of Kahlua, chocolate, and cream cheese is sure to please everyone. So next time you are looking for a special dessert, give this Kahlua Cookie Cream Cake a try.
