JOHN G'S CAESAR SALAD DRESSING

John G's Caesar Salad Dressing image

This is my own variant of the classic Caesar salad dressing, but without using raw egg so that the dressing keeps longer and doesn't spoil so easily. It's also a bit more piquant than the classic version and uses more cheese (because more cheese is always good). To make it more decorative in the bottle, try adding large sprigs of fresh basil to the dressing after shaking it. Makes a nice gift, and fresh basil tastes better, too.

Tips:

  • Use fresh ingredients: Fresh herbs, lemon juice, and Parmesan cheese will give your dressing the best flavor.
  • Don't over-process the dressing: A few pulses in a blender or food processor is all you need to emulsify the ingredients. Over-processing will make the dressing too thick.
  • Taste the dressing before serving: The dressing should be well-balanced, with a good balance of acidity, sweetness, and saltiness. Adjust the seasonings to your preference.
  • Serve the dressing immediately: Caesar dressing is best when served fresh. If you need to make it ahead of time, store it in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
  • Use the dressing on a variety of salads: Caesar dressing is traditionally served on romaine lettuce, but it can also be used on other greens, such as kale, spinach, or arugula.
  • Experiment with different variations: There are many ways to customize Caesar dressing. Try adding different herbs, spices, or cheeses to create your own unique flavor.

Conclusion:

Caesar salad dressing is a versatile and delicious dressing that can be used on a variety of salads. It is easy to make and can be customized to your own taste. With its creamy, tangy, and garlicky flavor, Caesar dressing is sure to please everyone at your table.
