Heat oil to 375* and pour batter into hot fat through a regular household funnel. Control the flow of batter by holding your finger over the bottom of the funnel. Tips:
- Use the right ingredients: Fresh, high-quality ingredients will make a big difference in the taste of your funnel cake. Make sure to use all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, eggs, milk, and butter. You can also add flavorings like vanilla extract or cinnamon to taste.
- Make sure your batter is the right consistency: The batter should be thick enough to coat the back of a spoon, but not too thick that it's difficult to pour. If the batter is too thick, add a little more milk. If the batter is too thin, add a little more flour.
- Heat your oil to the right temperature: The oil should be heated to 375 degrees Fahrenheit before you start frying the funnel cakes. If the oil is not hot enough, the funnel cakes will not cook properly. If the oil is too hot, the funnel cakes will burn.
- Fry the funnel cakes in small batches: Do not overcrowd the pot with funnel cakes. Otherwise, they will not cook evenly. Fry the funnel cakes in small batches of 2 or 3 at a time.
- Drain the funnel cakes on paper towels: After frying, drain the funnel cakes on paper towels to remove excess oil.
- Serve the funnel cakes with your favorite toppings: Funnel cakes are traditionally served with powdered sugar, but you can also top them with cinnamon sugar, whipped cream, ice cream, or fruit.
Conclusion:
Funnel cakes are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. By following these tips, you can make perfect funnel cakes every time. So what are you waiting for? Get started today!
