JELLO IN A CAN

Jello in a Can image

One day Leanne and I were talking about gelatin salads and discovered both our Mothers made this salad when we were growing up.Must have been popular in the 60's! I make it now for my family and I'm sure Leanne does too.I thought she had posted this recipe but I see she hadn't so I'm posting it. You can serve this with a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream to serve as a dessert.

Time 5m

Yield 4-5 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 3

1 (20 ounce) can sliced pineapple
1 (3 ounce) package Jello gelatin, your choice
1 cup boiling water

Steps:

  • Pour off pineapple juice from can but leave pineapple in the can (Save juice for another use).
  • Dissolve jello in boiling water.
  • Cool slightly.
  • Pour into can over the pineapple.
  • Chill until set.
  • To serve, run knife around inside of can and tip out.
  • Slice between the pineapple rings.

Tips:

  • Choose the right gelatin: Unflavored gelatin is the best choice for this recipe, as it allows you to control the flavor and sweetness of the Jell-O.
  • Use fresh fruit: Fresh fruit will give your Jell-O the best flavor. If you're using frozen fruit, thaw it completely before using.
  • Sweeten to taste: The amount of sugar you add to your Jell-O is up to you. Start with a small amount and add more to taste.
  • Chill thoroughly: Jell-O needs to be chilled for at least 4 hours, or overnight, to set properly.
  • Garnish with your favorite toppings: Once your Jell-O is set, you can garnish it with your favorite toppings, such as whipped cream, fruit, or nuts.

Conclusion:

Jell-O in a can is a classic dessert that is easy to make and can be enjoyed by people of all ages. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can create a delicious and refreshing Jell-O that is perfect for any occasion.
