Tips and Conclusion

Tips:

  • For a spicier jelly, use more jalapeños. You can also add a pinch of cayenne pepper for an extra kick.
  • To make milder jelly, remove the seeds from the jalapeños before chopping them. You can also use a milder variety of chili pepper, such as a poblano or Anaheim pepper.
  • If you don't have mesquite vinegar, you can use white vinegar or apple cider vinegar instead. You can also add a teaspoon of smoked paprika to the jelly for a smoky flavor.
  • Be sure to use a large enough pot when making the jelly. The mixture will foam up as it cooks, so you need plenty of room for it to expand.
  • Stir the jelly frequently as it cooks to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the pot.
  • Use a candy thermometer to test the temperature of the jelly. It is ready when it reaches 220 degrees Fahrenheit (105 degrees Celsius).
  • Pour the jelly into sterilized jars and seal them tightly. The jelly will keep for up to a year in a cool, dark place.

Conclusion: Jalapeno mesquite jelly is a delicious and versatile condiment that can be used in a variety of dishes. It is perfect for adding a sweet and spicy flavor to sandwiches, burgers, and tacos. It can also be used as a glaze for chicken, fish, and vegetables. And it makes a great gift for friends and family. So next time you are looking for a new and exciting jelly to try, give jalapeno mesquite jelly a try. You won't be disappointed.
