Time 50m

Yield 6 servings

Number Of Ingredients 14

8 slices bacon, chopped
1 red onion, diced
2 to 3 jalapenos, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 pound ground chuck
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 tablespoon tomato paste
12 ounces elbow macaroni
3 1/2 cups beef broth
2 tablespoons grainy mustard
A few dashes Worcestershire sauce
2 cups grated Cheddar
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1/4 cup pickled jalapenos, optional

  • Add the onion, jalapenos and garlic to the skillet and stir. Add the ground chuck and season with salt and pepper. Cook the meat, crumbling as you go, until cooked through, about 5 minutes. Stir in the tomato paste and cook for about 30 seconds.
  • Add the macaroni, broth, mustard and Worcestershire sauce. Give it a big stir and bring to a simmer. Cover and cook, stirring often, until the pasta is al dente and the sauce has thickened, about 10 minutes. Stir in the Cheddar. • Proper seasoning: Don't be shy with the seasonings! The combination of garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper is essential for creating a flavorful burger patty.
  • Handle the beef gently: Avoid overworking the ground beef mixture, as this can result in a tough burger. Mix the ingredients just until combined.
  • Shape the patties evenly: Form the burger patties into uniform shapes to ensure even cooking. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent bulging during cooking.
  • Use fresh toppings: Fresh jalapenos, onions, and lettuce add a burst of flavor and crunch to the burger. Choose ripe tomatoes and crisp lettuce for the best results.
  • Cook the burgers to your desired doneness: Cook the burger patties over medium heat, allowing them to develop a nice crust while maintaining their juiciness. Use a meat thermometer to ensure they reach your desired internal temperature.
  • Cheese selection: For a classic cheeseburger experience, opt for a melty cheese like cheddar or American cheese. You can also try different cheese varieties like pepper jack or blue cheese for a unique flavor twist.
