HUNTER'S BEEF

Hunter's Beef image

This is a great recipe for a small dinner party. The pan sauce is delicious over garlic cheese mashed potatoes or recipe #247050. This is probably my husband's favorite dish, at least it is the one he requests the most. As written the sauce can be spicy (depending on the freshness and type of cayenne you have), so if you are not a fan of spicy food I would 1/2 the cayenne.

Tips:

  • For the best flavor, use high-quality beef chuck roast or beef stew meat. Grass-fed beef is a great option if you can find it.
  • Don't be afraid to brown the beef in batches. This will help to develop a rich, flavorful crust on the meat.
  • Use a good quality lager or beer for the stew. A dark lager or stout will give the stew a richer flavor, while a lighter lager or ale will give it a more delicate flavor.
  • Don't add the vegetables to the stew until the beef is almost cooked. This will help to prevent them from becoming overcooked and mushy.
  • Serve the stew with a side of mashed potatoes, egg noodles, or crusty bread.

Conclusion:

Jäger eintopf, or hunter's beef stew, is a hearty and flavorful stew that is perfect for a cold winter day. The beef is braised in a rich, flavorful sauce made with beer, onions, carrots, and celery. The stew is then finished with a dollop of sour cream and a sprinkling of fresh parsley. Jäger eintopf is a delicious and satisfying meal that is sure to please everyone at the table.
