Time 2h30m

Yield 12

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 cup chopped walnuts
1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix
1 (5 ounce) package instant French vanilla pudding mix
½ cup cold water
½ cup vegetable oil
4 eggs
½ cup whiskey
½ cup butter
¼ cup water
1 cup white sugar
½ cup whiskey

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease and flour a 10-inch Bundt pan or tube cake pan. Sprinkle the walnuts evenly in the bottom of the prepared pan.
  • Place the cake mix, pudding mix, 1/2 cup water, vegetable oil, eggs, and 1/2 cup whiskey into a mixing bowl, and beat until well blended with an electric mixer, about 2 minutes. Pour the batter over the nuts in the pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until the cake is set and the top springs back when pushed slightly, about 1 hour. When the cake is completely cool, run a paring knife between the cake and the edge of the pan. Hold the cake pan on its side and gently tap the sides of the pan against the counter to loosen it. Cover the cake pan with a plate or cooling rack, and invert it to tip the cake out of the pan and onto the plate. Poke holes all over the top of the cake with a toothpick.
  • To make glaze, melt butter in a saucepan over low heat, then pour in 1/4 cup water and the sugar. Stir the mixture together until smooth, and bring to a boil over medium-low heat; boil for 5 minutes, then remove from heat and stir in 1/2 cup whiskey. Let the mixture cool about 10 minutes, then pour the warm glaze over the cake, allowing it to soak into the holes in the cake.

JACK DANIEL'S CAKE

Jack Daniel's Cake image

This has been my 24 year old son's favorite and most requested cake since he was about 10 - he is a butterscotch lover. It is really good - make sure you get the bottom/topping - it's what makes the cake! Being from Texas, I usually use pecans instead of walnuts. NOTE: If you want to use an electric mixer, be careful to not overbeat the cake.

JACK DANIELS CAKE

Jack Daniels Cake image

This is a wonderful cake for the holidays.

Provided by Deborah Mackrodt

Categories     Cakes

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 box dark chocolate cake mix
4 eggs, beaten
1/2 c black coffee
1/4 c jack daniels
1/4 c chopped pecans
1 very ripe banana
1 stick of butter softened

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • 2. Using an electric mixer combine all the ingredients, except the pecan pieces. Mix on medium-high 1-2 minutes. Do not over mix.
  • 3. Spray a Bundt cake pan lightly to coat.
  • 4. Put pieces of nuts in the bottom. When cake mix is mixed well, pour batter into the pan, level off in center, and bake 45-50 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center is nearly clean.
  • 5. Let cake cool for at least 15 minutes before removing it from the cake pan.
  • 6. You can glaze this cake with drizzled melted chocolate or even just a dusting of powdered sugar.

Tips:

  • Choose a high-quality bundt pan that will produce a beautiful, even cake. Greasing and flouring the pan thoroughly will help prevent the cake from sticking.
  • Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor. This includes using real butter, eggs, and sour cream. You can also use freshly squeezed orange juice and zest.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing can make the cake tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake the cake at the correct temperature and for the correct amount of time. If you underbake the cake, it will be gooey in the center. If you overbake the cake, it will be dry.
  • Let the cake cool completely before glazing it. This will help the glaze set properly.

Conclusion:

This Jack Daniel's Bundt Cake is a delicious and decadent dessert that is perfect for any occasion. It is moist and flavorful, with a rich caramel glaze that is simply irresistible. The cake is also easy to make, and it can be prepared in advance, making it a great option for busy hosts. Whether you are serving it to friends and family or enjoying it yourself, this cake is sure to be a hit.
