1 pound bulk Italian sausage
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped green pepper
4 teaspoons chopped seeded jalapeno pepper
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
3 large eggs, room temperature
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1 teaspoon minced fresh parsley
1 teaspoon minced fresh basil
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/8 teaspoon salt
Dash garlic powder
Dash cayenne pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425°. On a lightly floured surface, roll dough to a 1/8-in. thick circle; transfer to a 9-in. pie plate. Trim crust to 1/2 in. beyond edge of plate; flute edge. 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
2 cups crumbled cooked spicy Italian sausage
Coarse salt and ground pepper
6 large eggs
3/4 cup heavy cream
3/4 pound russet potato, cubed and steamed until tender
1 cup finely grated Parmesan (4 ounces)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Lightly flour a rolling pin and work surface and roll out dough to a 12-inch round. Place in a 9-inch pie plate, fold overhang under, and crimp edge. 1 1/2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms (4 oz)
1 cup shredded smoked Cheddar or smoked Gouda cheese (4 oz)

1 cup half-and-half
1/4 teaspoon coarse ground black pepper
Chopped fresh Italian (flat-leaf) parsley, if desired

Steps:
