- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add the oil and allow to warm 1 to 2 minutes. Then add the red onions and warm for 1 minute. Next, add the jalapenos and again warm for 1 minute. ISLAND TROPICAL SHRIMP WITH FRUIT SALSA
This is a great Caribbean shrimp dish that I wanted to get on Zaar for the Caribbean. This recipe comes from Walter Scheib, former White House Chef. The warm fruit salsa is a perfect accompaniment & adds to the flavor of this wonderful dish.

Steps:
- Combine all ingredients in medium bowl. Season with white pepper and salt. (Can be made 3 hours ahead.)
Tips:
- Choose ripe, flavorful fruits: The fresher and riper the fruits, the more delicious your salsa will be. Look for fruits that are brightly colored and free of blemishes.
- Use a variety of fruits: Don't be afraid to mix and match different fruits to create a unique and flavorful salsa. Some good combinations include mango, pineapple, papaya, and kiwi; strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries; or peaches, nectarines, and plums.
- Add some heat: If you like your salsa with a little kick, add a diced jalapeño or serrano pepper. You can also add a pinch of cayenne pepper or chili powder.
- Balance the flavors: A good salsa should have a balance of sweet, sour, and salty flavors. If your salsa is too sweet, add a squeeze of lime juice or lemon juice. If it's too sour, add a pinch of sugar or honey. And if it's too salty, add a little water.
- Chill before serving: Salsa is best served chilled. This allows the flavors to meld together and makes the salsa more refreshing.
Conclusion:
Island fruit salsa is a delicious and refreshing dip that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be customized to your own taste. Whether you like it sweet, sour, or spicy, there is an island fruit salsa recipe out there for you. So next time you are looking for a healthy and flavorful snack or dip, give island fruit salsa a try. You won't be disappointed!
