These brownies look impressive, but are very easy to make. You may substitute Kahlua® for Irish Cream, if desired. They always disappear quickly at potlucks!

Yield 20 Bars

Number Of Ingredients 14

BROWNIES:
1 (1 lb. 3.8-oz.) pkg. fudge brownie mix
1/2 cup oil
1/4 cup Irish cream liqueur
2 Eggs
FROSTING:
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
2 cups powdered sugar
2 tablespoons Irish cream liqueur
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 to 3 teaspoons milk
GLAZE:
1 oz. semi sweet chocolate chips
1 teaspoon butter or margarine

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Grease bottom only of 13x9-inch pan. In large bowl, combine all brownie ingredients; beat 50 strokes with spoon. Spread in greased pan. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until brownies are set and begin to pull away from sides of pan. DO NOT OVERBAKE. Cool completely. FROSTING: Beat 1/2 cup butter in small bowl until light and fluffy. Beat in all remaining frosting ingredients. Add enough milk for desired spreading consistency. Spread over cooled brownies. GLAZE: Melt glaze ingredients in small bowl over simmering hot water. Do not boil water. Stir until melted and smooth. Drizzle over frosted brownies. Refrigerate 30 minutes or until firm. Cut into bars.

Tips:

  • For fudgier brownies, use melted butter instead of softened butter.
  • To make the brownies extra chewy, add an extra 1/2 cup of chocolate chips.
  • For a boozy twist, add 1/4 cup of Irish cream liqueur to the batter.
  • If you don't have Irish cream liqueur, you can substitute another type of liqueur, such as Kahlua or Bailey's.
  • Be sure to line your baking pan with parchment paper or foil so that the brownies don't stick.
  • Don't overmix the batter, as this will result in tough brownies.
  • Bake the brownies until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs attached.
  • Let the brownies cool completely before cutting them into squares.

Conclusion:

These Irish cream brownies are a delicious and decadent treat that are perfect for any occasion. They're fudgy, chewy, and packed with chocolate flavor. The Irish cream liqueur adds a unique and boozy twist that makes them extra special. Whether you're serving them at a party or enjoying them as a snack, these brownies are sure to be a hit.
