3 large mangoes, peeled and chopped
1/2 medium sweet red pepper, chopped
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup onion, finely chopped
1/2 cup golden raisin
1/2 cup white vinegar
1/4 cup gingerroot, peeled and grated

2 teaspoons curry powder
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Remove hot jars from canner and ladle chutney into jars to within 1/2 inch of rim . Process 10 minutes for half-pint jars and 15 minutes for pint jars.

Tips:

  • Use firm, ripe apples and mangoes. This will ensure that your chutney has a good texture and flavor.
  • Peel and core the apples and mangoes before cooking. This will save you time and make the chutney easier to eat.
  • Use a sharp knife to chop the apples and mangoes. This will help to prevent them from becoming mushy.
  • Cook the chutney over medium heat. This will help to prevent it from burning.
  • Stir the chutney frequently while it is cooking. This will help to prevent it from sticking to the pot.
  • Add the vinegar, sugar, and spices to the chutney towards the end of the cooking time. This will help to preserve the flavor of the chutney.
  • Let the chutney cool completely before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld together.

Conclusion:

Whether you are looking for a sweet and tangy addition to your next cheese plate or a flavorful accompaniment to your favorite curry, apple mango chutney is sure to please.
