Time 45m

Number Of Ingredients 5

6 tsp extra-virgin olive oil (can use ghee or coconut oil if preferred)
1/4 tsp ground turmeric ( or more to suite your taste)
1 medium cauliflower, cut into florets
1 tsp coarse salt
freshly ground black pepper

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Drizzle 3 tsp. oil onto a baking sheet. Sprinkle with turmeric. Spread the cauliflower on the pan in one layer. Drizzle with remaining oil. Add the salt and several grinds of pepper. Mix with your hands to coat the florets.
  • 2. Roast the cauliflower for 20 minutes. Stir the cauliflower, roast 5 minutes and then stir again. Continue roasting until the cauliflower is almost soft and some tips are dark brown, about 5 minutes longer. Cool the califlower on the pan. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Tips:

  • Choose the right cauliflower: Look for a head of cauliflower that is dense and compact, with no signs of bruising or wilting. A heavy cauliflower is a good sign of freshness.
  • Cut the cauliflower into even-sized florets: This will help them cook evenly. If the florets are too small, they will overcook and become mushy. If they are too large, they will take too long to cook and may not be tender in the center.
  • Toss the cauliflower florets with oil and spices: This will help them to brown and caramelize in the oven. You can use any type of oil you like, but olive oil is a good choice. For spices, you can use a variety of options, such as cumin, coriander, turmeric, garam masala, and chili powder.
  • Roast the cauliflower florets at a high temperature: This will help them to get crispy and golden brown. The exact temperature and cooking time will depend on the size of the florets and your oven, but a good starting point is 425 degrees Fahrenheit for 20-25 minutes.
  • Serve the roasted cauliflower florets immediately: They are best enjoyed hot and crispy. You can serve them as a side dish, or you can add them to salads, soups, or stews.

Conclusion:

Roasted cauliflower is a delicious and healthy dish that is easy to make. It is a great way to get your daily dose of vegetables, and it can be enjoyed by people of all ages. With its crispy texture and flavorful spices, roasted cauliflower is a dish that everyone will love.
