Yield 2 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 large potato
2 cups buttermilk
2 cups flour
3 tablespoons black pepper
canola oil
salt

Steps:

  • Scrub to clean the skin nof a large Idaho potato; do not peel.

  • Toss a few slices at a time in flour mixed with the black pepper.
  • Fry in hot canola oil 2-to-3 minutes or until golden brown and crunchy on the outside.

Tips:

  • Choose the right chicken. For this recipe, a whole chicken that is about 3-4 pounds is ideal. You can also use chicken breasts or thighs, but the cooking time may need to be adjusted.
  • Use a flavorful marinade. The marinade helps to infuse the chicken with flavor and moisture. Be sure to use a marinade that contains acidic ingredients, such as lemon juice or vinegar, as this will help to tenderize the chicken.
  • Cook the chicken thoroughly. The internal temperature of the chicken should reach 165 degrees Fahrenheit before it is safe to eat. Use a meat thermometer to check the temperature of the chicken.
