SPICY HOT SAUSAGE BALLS

Can't remember where I got this. But it's a really fun and easy recipe, a great appetizer for most any occasion. It is important you use packaged sausage and not meat counter sausage (I used Jimmy Dean brand) because the consistency is not the same.

Yield 48

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 pks Spicy Ground Sausage
1 sm Red Onion
1 whole Jalapeno
1 sm Habanero
1 ½ cups Bisquick
2 cloves Garlic
2 teaspoon Cracked Pepper
1 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
1 teaspoon Cyenne Pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350. Mix all ingredients completely until all the bisquick is incorporated. Take a teaspoon of the mixture and form into balls. Bake for 30 to 40 min or until golden brown.

Tips:

  • Use a quality sausage. The better the sausage, the better the sausage balls will be. Look for a sausage that is flavorful and has a good texture.
  • Don't overmix the dough. Overmixing will make the sausage balls tough. Mix the dough just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Chill the dough before baking. Chilling the dough will help the sausage balls hold their shape and prevent them from spreading too much in the oven.
  • Bake the sausage balls until they are golden brown. This will ensure that they are cooked through and have a crispy exterior.
  • Serve the sausage balls warm with your favorite dipping sauce. Ranch dressing, honey mustard, or barbecue sauce are all great options.

Conclusion:

Sausage balls are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. They are also a great way to use up leftover sausage. With a few simple ingredients, you can make a batch of sausage balls that will disappear in no time. So next time you're looking for a tasty snack or appetizer, give these hot and spicy sausage balls a try.
