3 orange spice tea bags
½ cup light brown sugar
2 cups apple cider
1 ½ cups light rum
8 cinnamon sticks
3 teaspoons butter

Steps:

  • Pour water into a large saucepan and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and toss in the orange spice tea bags. Cover and let steep 5 minutes. Remove tea bags and stir in sugar, apple cider, rum, and 2 of the cinnamon sticks. Heat just to steaming -- do not boil.
  • Ladle hot cider into 6 mugs and drop 1/2 teaspoon butter into each. Garnish with a cinnamon "swizzle" stick.

1 gallon apple cider or apple juice
1 cup orange juice
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/2 teaspoon orange extract
1/2 teaspoon lemon extract
4 cinnamon sticks
2 teaspoons whole cloves
1 teaspoon whole allspice

Steps:

  • In a Dutch oven, combine the first five ingredients. Place the cinnamon sticks, cloves and allspice on a double thickness of cheesecloth; bring up corners of cloth and tie with string to form a bag. Add to the pan. Cook, uncovered, over medium heat for 10-15 minutes or until flavors are blended (do not boil). Discard spice bag.

1 jar (6 ounces) sugar-free instant lemon iced tea mix
2/3 cup sweetened lemonade drink mix
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground cloves
ADDITIONAL INGREDIENTS FOR HOT SPICED TEA:
1 cup boiling water
ADDITIONAL INGREDIENTS FOR HOT SPICED PUNCH:
2 quarts apple juice or cider
1-1/2 cups cranberry juice

  • In an airtight container, combine the first five ingredients. Store in a cool, dry place for up to 6 months. 5 whole black peppercorns
2 whole cloves
3 whole cardamom pods
2 whole star anise pods
5 coin-size pieces fresh ginger
2 inches strips fresh orange peel
2 inches strips fresh lemon peel
5 cups cold water
4 bags orange-pekoe tea
3 cups apple juice or 3 cups apple cider
1 orange, juice of

Steps:

  • Lightly crush the cinnamon, peppercorns, cloves, and cardamom pods in a mortar and pestle or on a cutting board with the bottom of a saucepan.
