Hot pat, a classic Thai dish, is a stir-fried meat dish infused with the bold flavors of Thai herbs and spices. This delectable dish is typically made with pork, chicken, or beef, and features a medley of vegetables such as bell peppers, onions, and carrots. The key to creating an authentic hot pat lies in the use of a traditional Thai mortar and pestle to grind fresh herbs and spices into a fragrant paste. This paste, combined with a blend of fish sauce, oyster sauce, and soy sauce, forms the flavorful base of the dish. Hot pat is commonly served with steamed rice and accompanied by a variety of dipping sauces, such as Sriracha or a sweet and tangy tamarind sauce. The article offers three variations of this tantalizing dish, catering to different dietary preferences and tastes. The first recipe, Classic Hot Pat, utilizes pork as the primary protein and is sure to satisfy meat lovers. For those seeking a lighter option, Chicken Hot Pat offers a leaner protein choice while maintaining the dish's authentic flavors. Lastly, the Vegetarian Hot Pat is a flavorful meatless alternative, featuring a combination of tofu and a variety of vegetables. Each recipe provides step-by-step instructions, ensuring that home cooks of all levels can recreate this Thai favorite in their own kitchens.

DR. PAT'S HOT TODDY COLD REMEDY

Dr. Pat's Hot Toddy Cold Remedy image

Okay, so our family doctor suggested this instead of prescription cough syrup for relieving the cold symptoms of the ADULTS in our family (he of course, did NOT suggest it as a CURE). He says the whisky helps you sleep while the honey and lemon soothe your throat. I'm pretty sure it works, but in the end we really don't care because we love this warm drink when we aren't feeling well. Even sometimes when we are feeling well! UPDATE: Our beloved Dr. Pat passed away November 19,2010 at the age of 59 from Melanoma so now this recipe with all of it's great reviews is even more special to our family. We will miss you forever Pat!!!
