Number Of Ingredients 9

3 lb chicken wings
3/4 c picante sauce
2/3 c honey
1/3 c soy sauce
1/4 c dijon mustard
3 Tbsp vegetable oil
2 Tbsp freshly grated ginger
1/2 tsp grated orange peel
additional picante sauce for dipping

Steps:

  • 1. Cut off and discard wing tips, cut each wing in half at joint. (If using frozen wings in a bag..this step should already be done for you). If using frozen..be sure to thaw first.
  • 2. Place all the wings in a 13x9 inch baking dish. Combine 3/4 cup picante sauce, honey, soy sauce, mustard, oil, ginger and orange peel in small bowl; mix well. Pour over chicken wings. Cover and refrigerate at least 6 hours or overnight.
  • 3. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Place chicken wings and sauce in single layer on foil-lined 15x10 inch jelly roll pan. Bake 40-45 minutes or until brown. Serve warm w/additional picante sauce.

Tips:

  • Use fresh chicken wings: Fresh wings have a better flavor and texture than frozen wings.
  • Pat the chicken wings dry: This will help the wings to crisp up in the oven.
  • Season the chicken wings generously: Don't be afraid to use plenty of salt, pepper, and garlic powder. You can also add other spices, such as chili powder, cumin, or paprika.
  • Make sure the chicken wings are cooked through: The wings should be cooked to an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Serve the chicken wings with your favorite dipping sauce: Some popular dipping sauces for chicken wings include ranch dressing, blue cheese dressing, and honey mustard.
  • Enjoy!

Conclusion:

These hot n' honeyed chicken wings are the perfect appetizer or party food. They are easy to make and always a hit with a crowd. The wings are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and the honey garlic sauce is the perfect balance of sweet and spicy.
