- 3. spread filling down the middle of the rectangle leaving two inches on each side for making braid.
- 4. Cut 2 inch cuts on each side to create the strips. Weave the strips from one side to the other to create a braid over the top of the filling.

Tips:
- For a more flavorful braid, use a combination of cheeses such as cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan.
- If you don't have a stand mixer, you can make the dough by hand. Just be sure to knead it for at least 10 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.
- To prevent the dough from becoming too sticky, work with it on a lightly floured surface.
- If the dough is too sticky to braid, let it rest for a few minutes before trying again.
- To make sure the braid cooks evenly, place it on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
- Brush the braid with melted butter before baking to help it brown.
- Serve the braid warm with your favorite dipping sauce.

This hot ham and cheese braid is a delicious and versatile dish that is perfect for any occasion. It can be served as an appetizer, main course, or snack. The braid is also easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. With a little planning, you can have a warm and cheesy braid ready to enjoy in no time.
