BOUNTIFUL HOT FUDGE SUNDAE PIE

Bountiful Hot Fudge Sundae Pie image

I've made this pie several times over the past twenty years and everyone always raves about it. It's especially good in the hot summer months after a BBQ or cookout. It's originally from an August 1981 issue of Bon Appetit magazine in a feature entitled "Cool Desserts". I've used both the Oreo crumbs in the box or the sleeve of chocolate wafer cookies by Nabisco and crush them in my processor

PEANUT BUTTER FUDGE PIE

Peanut Butter Fudge Pie image

This is a combination of a recipe Mom Meyer gave me and one I found on Zaar. The fudge layer adds some interest. I reduced the sugar and increased the peanut butter from other recipes. This is a good summer treat, and can be frozen for a while. Thaw at least a few hours before eating in the fridge or an hour before on the counter.

HOT FUDGE PEANUT BUTTER PIE

Hot Fudge Peanut Butter Pie image

This pie is easy, no bake. Great for summer or the holidays. It is so good my friends jokingly call it my wife getting pie after one of them said it was so good she would marry me if I kept making it. ;) It is very rich but worth every bite.

1/2 cup(s) sugar
TOPPING
2 tablespoon(s) hot fudge topping, reserved from above

Tips:

  • Make sure the butter and cream cheese are at room temperature before you start. This will help them cream together smoothly.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing can make the pie tough.
  • Bake the pie until the center is just set. The pie will continue to cook as it cools.
  • Let the pie cool completely before serving. This will help the flavors to develop and the pie to set properly.
  • For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate chips in the filling.
  • For a fun twist, try adding chopped nuts or crushed pretzels to the crust.
