Time 35m

Yield 8

Number Of Ingredients 3

1 (8 ounce) can refrigerated crescent rolls
8 hot dogs
2 tablespoons ketchup, or to taste

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Unroll crescent dough. Pinch or press the perforation between the triangles to get 4 rectangular pieces. Cut rectangles in half lengthwise so you have 8 narrow strips.
  • Make a 2-inch slice through the center of one end of a hot dog. Cut two more 2-inch slices on either side of that, so that the 'legs' are about the same thickness. Repeat on the other end. Cut 'legs' into the remaining hot dogs.
  • Roll a crescent strip around the center of each dog. Place spider dogs on an ungreased baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, about 11 minutes. Dip a chopstick into some ketchup and dot 'eyes' onto each spider. Serve with remaining ketchup.

1 pkg spaghetti noodles

  • Score the hot dogs: Before cooking, score the hot dogs lengthwise with a sharp knife. This will help them cook evenly and prevent them from splitting.
  • Use a hot grill: If you are grilling the hot dogs, preheat the grill to medium-high heat before cooking. This will help to sear the hot dogs and give them a nice char.
  • Boil the hot dogs in flavorful liquid: If you are boiling the hot dogs, use a flavorful liquid such as beer, broth, or water with spices. This will help to infuse the hot dogs with flavor.
  • Don't overcook the hot dogs: Hot dogs are best when they are cooked through but still juicy. Overcooking will make them tough and dry.
  • Serve the hot dogs with your favorite toppings: Classic hot dog toppings include ketchup, mustard, relish, and onions. However, you can also get creative and try different toppings such as chili, cheese, bacon, or avocado.

Conclusion:

Hot dog spiders are a fun and easy way to enjoy hot dogs. They are perfect for parties or a quick and easy weeknight meal. With a little creativity, you can create your own unique hot dog spider that is sure to be a hit with your family and friends.
