HOT CREOLE SHRIMP DIP

Hot Creole Shrimp Dip image

I came across a recipe for hot crawfish dip, and it sounded delicious, but we don't have a lot of crawfish available in my area. However, I'm a big fan of shrimp, so I used that instead. This Creole shrimp dip has become a family favorite. You can increase the heat with your favorite hot sauce or add a bit of acidity with a squeeze of lemon. -Jill Burwell, Renton, Washington

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 1/2 cups real crab or 1 1/2 cups imitation crabmeat
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon horseradish
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
5 green onions, chopped

Tips:

  • Use fresh shrimp: Fresh shrimp will give your dip the best flavor. If you can't find fresh shrimp, frozen shrimp will also work, but be sure to thaw them completely before using.

  • Use a good quality Creole seasoning: Creole seasoning is a key ingredient in this dip, so be sure to use a good quality brand. A good Creole seasoning will have a blend of spices, including paprika, garlic, onion, and cayenne pepper.
  • Add some vegetables: Adding some vegetables to your dip will make it more nutritious and colorful. Good options include bell peppers, onions, and celery.
  • Serve with your favorite dippers: This dip can be served with a variety of dippers, such as crackers, chips, or vegetables.
