HOT CHOCOLATE BREAD

Perfect for the winter season, my daughter and husband love it when I make this! It makes a large loaf so use your large loaf pan. Also can be made into individual loafs, just adjust cooking time.

Categories     Sweet Breads

Time 1h10m

Number Of Ingredients 11

1/2 c cream cheese, room temperature
1/4 c butter, softened
1 1/2 c sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/4 c cocoa powder
1 1/4 c buttermilk
2 1/4 c all purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 c mini marshmallows

Steps:

  • 1. Combine cream cheese, butter, and sugar. Cream with a mixer. Add egg and vanilla. Mix again. Add the cocoa powder and about 1/2 cup of the buttermilk; mix well. Add all the remaining ingredients (except the marshmallows) and stir to combine. Fold in the marshmallows.
  • 2. Spoon into a greased loaf pan. Bake at 350-degrees for 50-60 minutes.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality chocolate. The better the chocolate, the better the bread will taste. Look for a chocolate with a cocoa content of at least 70%.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing will make the bread tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Be patient. This bread takes time to rise. Allow it to rise for the full amount of time indicated in the recipe.
  • Bake the bread until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. This will ensure that the bread is cooked through.
  • Let the bread cool completely before slicing and serving. This will help the bread to set and will make it easier to slice.

Conclusion:

Hot chocolate bread is a delicious and decadent treat that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Whether you are looking for a warm and comforting snack or a special dessert, hot chocolate bread is sure to please.
