Hot Savannah Chicken Salad Casserole (Paula Deen) image

This sounds like a really odd combination but it is really yummy! I haven't met a Paula Deen recipe that I haven't liked yet. :) My notes are in parentheses. I've also used Recipe #278160 for the soup.

Tips:

  • Choose the right chicken: For the best flavor, use boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs. If you're using chicken breasts, be sure to pound them thin so they cook evenly.
  • Cook the chicken thoroughly: Make sure the chicken is cooked through before adding it to the casserole. You can do this by cooking it in a skillet over medium heat until it is no longer pink in the center.
  • Use a variety of vegetables: The more vegetables you add to your casserole, the more flavorful it will be. Some good options include celery, onion, carrots, peas, and corn.
  • Don't overcook the vegetables: You want the vegetables to be tender, but not mushy. Cook them just until they are heated through.
  • Use a creamy sauce: A creamy sauce will help to bind the ingredients together and make the casserole more flavorful. You can use a store-bought sauce or make your own.
  • Top with your favorite toppings: Once the casserole is baked, you can top it with a variety of toppings, such as shredded cheese, crumbled bacon, or chopped nuts.

Conclusion:

Hot chicken salad casserole is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal. It is also a great way to use up leftover chicken.
