Tips:

  • Choose the right cut of steak: Flank steak is a thin, flavorful cut of beef that is perfect for marinating and grilling. Look for a flank steak that is about 1 to 1 1/2 inches thick and has a good amount of marbling.
  • Marinate the steak: Marinating the steak helps to tenderize it and add flavor. You can use a variety of marinades, but a simple marinade made with soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and brown sugar is a good place to start.
  • Grill the steak over high heat: Flank steak should be cooked over high heat to get a nice sear on the outside and a tender, juicy inside. Cook the steak for 5 to 7 minutes per side, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 135 degrees Fahrenheit for medium-rare.
  • Let the steak rest before slicing: Once the steak is cooked, let it rest for a few minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the steak, resulting in a more tender and flavorful steak.
  • Slice the steak against the grain: When slicing the steak, cut against the grain. This helps to break down the tough fibers in the steak and make it more tender.

Conclusion:

Hong Kong flank steak is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal or a special occasion. By following these tips, you can make sure that your flank steak turns out tender, juicy, and flavorful every time.
