Tips:
- Choose ripe, fresh figs. Look for figs that are plump, have a slight give when pressed, and have no signs of bruising or blemishes.
- Use good quality ricotta cheese. Fresh, whole milk ricotta is best, but you can also use part-skim ricotta if you prefer.
- Don't overmix the filling. Stir the ricotta cheese and honey mixture until just combined. Overmixing will make the filling too runny.
- Be careful not to overcook the figs. Cook them just until they are warmed through and slightly softened. Overcooking will make them mushy.
- Serve the appetizers immediately. They are best when served warm, but you can also store them in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
Conclusion:
Honeyed fig and ricotta appetizers are a delicious and easy-to-make snack or appetizer. They are perfect for parties or potlucks. The combination of sweet figs, creamy ricotta cheese, and salty prosciutto is sure to please everyone.
