A not quite sweet but not really spicy glaze to throw on tenderloins or chops. Ive made this without the dry mustard (didnt have any) and it tasted great! You can also broil instead of grilling with no problems.

Time 50m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 8

1/4 cup Catalina dressing, divided
1 (1 lb) pork tenderloin
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
1 tablespoon honey

Steps:

  • Brush 2 tablespoons of the Catalina dressing over pork.
  • Mix dry ingredients; rub onto pork.
  • Let stand 10 min (flavor is just fine w/o marinading for long) or refrigerate up to 24 hours to marinate.
  • preheat grill to medium heat.
  • Place pork on grill; cover.
  • Grill 20 min., turning occasionally.
  • mix remaining 2 tablespoons dressing and honey.
  • Brush some of the honey mixture over pork.
  • Continue grilling 5 to 10 min., turning and brushing with honey mixture until pork is cooked through (160°F.).
  • Let stand, covered with foil, a few minutes before slicing.

Tips:

  • Choose a good quality pork tenderloin: Look for a tenderloin that is firm to the touch and has a light pink color. Avoid tenderloins that are slimy or have a dark color.
  • Brine the pork tenderloin: Brining the pork tenderloin helps to keep it moist and flavorful. To brine the pork tenderloin, simply dissolve 1/2 cup of salt and 1/4 cup of sugar in 4 cups of water. Place the pork tenderloin in the brine and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or up to overnight.
  • Make the honey spice rub: The honey spice rub is what gives this pork tenderloin its delicious flavor. To make the rub, combine 1/4 cup of brown sugar, 1/4 cup of paprika, 1 tablespoon of garlic powder, 1 tablespoon of onion powder, 1 teaspoon of ground cumin, 1 teaspoon of chili powder, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper in a small bowl. Stir until the ingredients are well combined.
  • Rub the pork tenderloin with the honey spice rub: Once the pork tenderloin is brined, pat it dry with paper towels. Then, rub the pork tenderloin with the honey spice rub. Be sure to coat the pork tenderloin evenly with the rub.
  • Cook the pork tenderloin: You can cook the pork tenderloin in the oven or on the grill. If you are cooking the pork tenderloin in the oven, preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Place the pork tenderloin on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the pork tenderloin reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Let the pork tenderloin rest: Once the pork tenderloin is cooked, let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving. This will help the juices to redistribute throughout the pork tenderloin, making it more tender and flavorful.

Conclusion:

Honey spice rubbed pork tenderloin is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for any occasion. The pork tenderloin is brined and then rubbed with a flavorful honey spice rub before being cooked. The result is a tender, juicy, and flavorful pork tenderloin that is sure to please everyone at your table.
